Why Are Spreadsheet Applications Still Better Than Personal Finance Applications?

I spent about 4 hours yesterday trying to get back to basic finance and tracking my own cash flows. It’s trite to do these kind of things but it’s necessary. I once handled book of accounts of our business and it was frustrating in several different ways. However it was simple - it was a spreadsheet that showed cash inflows and outflows and a record of all our inventory. I have reason to believe that spreadsheet applications (Excel or its open source alternatives) are better than using “simply inefficient” applications that never seem to meet your needs.

Is Fundraising Online A Good Idea?

This is one those Sunday's wherein I reflect about my past deeds and think of reasons why I just flew away from my job like a lost bird. And this time it isn't about me. I've been observing what happened to my ex-co-workers and what happened to those developers and software engineers I learned a few things from. They've all opted to be independent contractors. Surprisingly, some of them are ready as they have prior experience in the freelance world and know very well how to deal with clients.

Downside of Using Paypal Express for Business

Recently I finished a Paypal Website Payments Standard Integration with IPN (Instant Payments Notification) - something which was poorly implemented by the version two developer. Hopefully redeemed myself with that at least. I am highly interested on e-commerce-type projects. Since 2007 I did a few small e-commerce projects and based on experience, I could say that Paypal is a more sensible option than other payment gateways like Protx.
